RITUAL & CEREMONY

The heart of my work

A Mother’s Blessing is a sacred circle where the women in your life gather to honour your initiation into motherhood.

The ceremony is a chance for your sisters to deeply support you on your journey, offering words of heartfelt encouragement and love. Sitting in circle around a central altar, we begin the ceremony with a welcome message and a guided ancestral meditation. We then take part in a cacao ceremony, crafts like sculpture or jewellery making, belly painting, a red thread ritual, and enjoying nourishing food—there are many options for activities and we will plan the ceremony together to best suit you.

THE mother’S blessing

The Mother’s Blessing ceremony is also a beautiful opportunity to organise postpartum support from your gathered sisters; like a meal train or care schedule, to ensure your family is held by community after the birth.

Whilst I provide all craft materials and facilitation, the ceremony is a collaborative effort and the sisters partaking in the ritual are encouraged to bring offerings for the altar and a dish to share, blessings for the mother spoken from the heart, and help with tidying your space after the ceremony so that all you have to do afterwards is rest, integrate and bask in the divine and potent energy of the day. This intentional, collaborative coming together to support the mother sends ripples out into the community, and paves the way for more mother-centric ways of living where offering & receiving support is the norm.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“Rebecca facilitated the mother's blessing of my dreams, making me feel loved and supported leading up to my birth. I will forever remember the beautiful altar, sharing food with my closest sisters, creating with clay, tying the red thread, listening to beautiful birth blessings from friends and sharing yummy cacao in circle. Rebecca made me feel like I was truly being honoured and celebrated that day. I never felt stressed or like I was hosting an event. She helped facilitate a discussion on the importance of postpartum which helped so much in me feeling supported by community in the fourth trimester. It didn't stop there - she created a group chat for me once I'd given birth with my friends so I could continue to feel the support and love.”

THE birth art sessions

Creating birth art is a therapeutic and explorative way to process and integrate life’s transitions and transformations. Getting into a flow state with various mediums allows your subconscious to bring to light insights, patterns and imagery that can facilitate healing. I offer these sessions not only for mothers approaching birth; but for everyone. No matter your age, gender, or walk of life, birth art—whether you are exploring your own emergence into the world, undergoing a transformation, or in the process of birthing a new business or offering—can be a fun, nourishing and insightful way of honouring your evolution.

FOR THE PREGNANT MOTHER

Pregnancy is a portal where the veils between worlds are thin; you are exploding with the creative force of life. During this time, getting into a flow state with paints, pastels or clay allows the subconscious to bridge the gap between your inner and outer world.

Exploring artistic mediums is a therapeutic way to let your analytical beta-brainwave state melt away, allowing you to dip into a mental state closer to that which you’ll experience in labour. This process offers an opportunity to access deeper insights, inner beliefs, patterns, imagery and healing.

You might like to create a painting, a drawing, a sculpture—or explore the symbol of the Labyrinth which can be used as a mindfulness tool, coping practice, and powerful analogy for the process of labour and birth. Guided by the Birthing From Within framework; I will allow you to lead the way whilst offering empathetic mentorship in the process.

FOR EVERY SOUL—WHEREVER YOU ARE ON YOUR JOURNEY

Birth art can honour any genesis, evolution, or transformation, and is supportive of any healing journey. Perhaps you are exploring your own birth or birth imprint, and would like to create a piece of art to deepen that exploration. You may be a father preparing for the birth of his child; a postpartum mother integrating her recent birth experience; or a grandmother re-exploring the births of her children from decades past. You may be in the process of birthing a business, offering, or deep within one of life’s evolutions. Whatever the reason—this process offers a safe, ceremonial and nourishing way to explore, create, celebrate, and heal.

My sessions take place at your own home, or within my private studio in Fremantle’s West End. We begin with gentle enquiry as to the journey or transformation you are navigating, followed by the lighting of candles, intention setting and guided meditation.

We then get busy creating and dropping into a flow state, to the background sounds of relaxing music. I am there creating my own piece alongside you, offering guidance and conversation. It is often a very fun and relaxing process. You will take home a finished piece of art on quality paper or a sculpture (or sometimes both!)
