DURING YOUR PREGNANCY
-
Throughout your pregnancy we will deepen into trust and intimacy with one another through your prenatal sessions. I draw on the Birthing From Within framework to guide my mentoring process.
Through five 1:1 prenatal sessions, we will explore a plethora of topics addressing both the practical and spiritual dimensions of pregnancy, birth, and Matrescence. Childbirth is a sacred Rite of Passage through which the mother should be lovingly held and honoured as the ultimate authority. My role is to support you in your full autonomy. All choices are your own and all answers are to be found within yourself. I will shine a light on your innate birthing power and bring your awareness—through gentle enquiry—to topics that might sometimes feel difficult to explore.
Some things we may explore together include the stories we carry around birth; social conditioning and limiting beliefs; connection to lineage; creative embodiment and archetypal mythology; the heroine’s journey; the intensity of labour, your relationship to pain and being with pain; birth physiology and how to optimise it; creating and holding boundaries; breath awareness; connecting with your baby; cultivation of the village; death in the birthspace; weaving ritual and ceremony into your journey; and in-depth postpartum planning.
As I only serve women choosing physiological homebirth or freebirth, my role doesn’t involve coaching you to navigate interventions within the hospital system. This means we are really able to lean in to the nourishing, deep inner work of sovereign birth and cultivating an atmosphere of reverence and joy. As I do not serve in a medical capacity, having contingency plans in place for any complication that may arise is the full responsibility of the mother and father.

Pregnancy is a portal where the veils between worlds are thin. You are exploding with the creative force of life. You are the universe, creating herself. During this time, getting into a flow state with paints, pastels or clay allows the subconscious to bridge the gap between your inner and outer world.
Exploring artistic mediums is a therapeutic way to let your analytical beta-brainwave state melt away, allowing you to dip into a mental state closer to that which you’ll experience in labour. This process offers an opportunity to access deeper insights, inner beliefs, patterns, imagery and healing.
You might like to create a painting, a drawing, a sculpture—or explore the symbol of the Labyrinth which can be used as a mindfulness tool, coping practice, and powerful analogy for the process of labour and birth. Guided by the Birthing From Within framework; I will allow you to lead the way whilst offering empathetic mentorship in the process.

The Mother’s Blessing is a ceremony where the women in your life gather to honour your initiation into motherhood and is often described as the most memorable and joyful day of a woman’s pregnancy.
The ceremony is a chance for your sisters to deeply support you, offering words of heartfelt encouragement, love and witnessing. It usually involves guided ancestral meditation, a cacao or tea ceremony, crafts like sculpture or jewellery making, belly painting, a red thread ritual, and enjoying nourishing food—there are many options for activities and we will plan the ceremony together to best suit you.

As a photographer, I simply cannot pass up offering the beautiful mothers I support a photo session of their own. My photography sessions offer a safe and playful space for you to revel in the queendom of motherhood, to celebrate and adore your pregnant belly and body whilst filled with life, and to capture precious memories with your family before baby arrives. We can shoot on location or in the comfort of your own home—it’s all about you. Likewise, we can make it a family photoshoot or a feminine embodiment shoot focusing on you alone. The photoshoot usually lasts for one hour, and you receive a full gallery of digital images.
DURING YOUR BIRTH
-
My role in the birth space is one of emotional and spiritual nourishment; I am there to serve as companion, sister and reverent witness.
My role is to ensure the mother is able to labour and give birth without disturbance, allowing the protective physiological process of birth to unfold. The mother and father are at the centre of the space; I am in service to their needs.
I protect the energy of the space—ensuring the lights remain low, noise is kept to a minimum, ensuring you are staying fed and hydrated (as well as the father/main birth support person), keeping the birth pool warm, tending to older children if they’re present, quietly capturing photographs or video if requested (this is discussed previously), and honouring your choices.
I am there to pour water on your back, offer gentle touch if desired, tone with you through surges and hold your hands—or, sit quietly and keep my distance, melting into the background.
I do not serve in a medical capacity. My presence is that of friend and companion. In the instance of any medical complication, the mother and father must have their own contingency plan and every choice made throughout labour is your own. Should you make the choice to transfer to hospital in labour, I will continue to support you in the hospital.
-
After the birth, I continue the gentle space holding. The birth is not complete until the placenta is born; and it is essential the environment remains quiet and optimal for birthing.
I ensure the mother is kept warm, tend to the blankets and linens, offer warming postpartum-specific food and nourishment, brew herbal tea, clean the space, and simply be there to support in any way whilst you revel in your first moments together.
-
After the placenta is born, I am there to assist with your choice of placenta ritual within the space. This may look like a cord burning ceremony or a full or partial lotus birth. I provide herbs and salts for lotus births and tend to the placenta with the utmost reverence.
during your first 40 days postpartum
-
My journey with you does not end at the birth. Postpartum is a foundational time for the bonding, integration and healing and you will require deep recovery and gentle care.
I will visit you on a weekly basis for 4 weeks following the birth. At each visit, I provide a nourishing meal, a baked treat and herbal allies like warming infusions and sitz bath or yoni steaming blends for optimal healing and to treat vaginal/perineal tears or grazes. I provide belly binding, emotional support and light tidying of your space.
I place a great deal of importance on education and planning for postpartum. During pregnancy we thoroughly prepare to ensure we are best meeting the 7 pillars of postpartum care. The pillars include:
Rest; Nutrition; Warmth; Sanctuary; Spiritual Companionship & Ritual; Community Support and Bodywork & Therapies.
All families I walk alongside also receive my Postpartum Planning ebook.

The care and nourishment you receive in postpartum, especially within the first 40 days, is vital to your healing and long-term wellbeing. After the birth, your body requires deep rest and rejuvenation to optimally heal; and nutrition is paramount.
I draw on the Eastern wisdom of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine; modalities of healing that honour the first 40 day confinement period. The meals I provide are specific to postpartum; in the first 1-2 weeks I cook gentle liquidy meals rich in warming spices like Dhal, soups, congees and stewed fruits. In weeks 3-4 we continue with warming meals and introduce protein like eggs, chicken and slow cooked red meats as your digestive fire strengthens.
I provide you with herbal supports for your first 40 days. This includes my postpartum tea blend, sitz bath blend and yoni steaming herbs.

The journey of Matrescence (no matter how many times you’ve previously given birth) is a potent time of transformation, identity shifts and rebirth. You are simultaneously landing from the ordeal of birth and integrating an entirely new human being into your life, your home, your family and daily rhythms. As such, the postpartum mother experiences a full spectrum of emotion, which ought to be lovingly witnessed.
Spiritual companionship and deep empathic witnessing are as essential to your healing as nutrition and rest. I am there to provide emotional support, conversation and company, birth debriefing, gentle breastfeeding and mothering support, and above all to honour your instincts, intuition and authority as Mother.
You may like to weave ritual and ceremony into the postpartum space; and we honour the closing of our time together with a candle ritual and the cutting of the red threads woven around our wrists at your Mother’s Blessing; a simple and sacred full circle moment.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
In my pregnancy Rebecca provided emotional support, helping me to prepare for my birth journey. We chatted often, meeting in person and talking over messages. I borrowed books from her library, got suggestions for outside support like massage and chiro, we discussed my birth wishes and most importantly planned for postpartum creating a big brainstorm to stick on the fridge. Rebecca always checked in leading up to my birth. She listened to all my messages in prodromal labour when I wasn't sure it was happening or not, always in full support, with an open heart and listening ears.
She arrived at my home only when we called and asked her to come and even when she was outside she asked permission to enter the space. She was everything you'd want in a birth support person. Present, providing me with anything I may want or need - for example quietly preparing me drinks and offering them, words of encouragement when I needed them and pouring warm water on my back when my partner had a break. She was so respectful of myself, the space and my partner. Rebecca reminded me that like her and all the women before me, I could do this; I was already doing this. She was the wise woman I needed to to provide emotional and tangible support so that my partner could focus on supporting me and I could focus on birthing my baby. Afterwards she kept me warm, made me beautiful teas and food - all of which she'd prepared and brought - cleaned up, washed towels etc. All of this meant I could focus on bonding with my new baby. She then helped with my placenta, which I chose to keep close in the room with me after the birth. She provided the herbs and helped me to prepare it with salt.
Rebecca went above and beyond supporting me in early postpartum. She delivered the most nourishing meals, adjusted to my dietary choices. She provided big portions, food I could freeze and most importantly food that made my body feel warm and nourished. She helped with tasks around the house. I am someone who finds it hard to ask and always says no it’s okay, but she did it anyway. It was so needed. She also was there to listen - to debrief, checking in over text often, and continuing to help me feel honoured and safe. I cannot speak highly enough of Rebecca and her understanding of the sacredness of postpartum and her ability to honour and support it in every way you want and need, and also in the ways you didn’t even know you needed. I will be forever grateful that I had the most beautiful doula I could ever imagine at my birth. She will forever be an important part of our family’s journey.”
